It’s Actually a Great Time to Start a Business. (Really!)

Aug 20, 2020 | Become a Provider, Divorce start up business

Things this year have been a little… unusual. While some of us have felt somewhat paralyzed by the events unfolding around us, others have been able to look towards building something in the midst of all of these unknowns and secure something that can withstand any “new normal” environment (should that be either a short- or long-term reality).

A recent survey from SCORE polled start-ups about their current attitude about starting or continuing their business (in light of the COVID situation). They found that the majority of those polled (44%) are “still waiting to see what happens,” about 18% have either scaled down or abandoned their plans, BUT 38% have actually scaled-up their plans or stayed the course (perhaps they are the people mentioned earlier).

As so many start-ups and small businesses remain in a holding pattern at this time (because, perhaps, their models were not designed for this type of environment), the opportunity for bold entrepreneurs, especially in the field of amicable divorce, seems very timely (and very much in-demand).

Of course, no one wants to capitalize on people’s misfortunes, but we feel that an unhappy (or even downright miserable) marriage is not something that we would want people to have to endure, on top of everything else right now. We’ve seen that divorces are on the rise during the pandemic, (because stress levels have skyrocketed and people are spending far more time together), but in addition to that, people are dealing with new and exaggerated co-parenting and custody issues, which is another area where a DWD Provider can lend their services.

Because DWD Providers are able to accommodate the needs of their clients through remote communications (and are able to work from home offices, if necessary), we are able to serve our clients very effectively during this time — and even going forward within the looming “new normal” environment. Clients are also getting more comfortable conducting meetings over Zoom and exchanging documents within a secured electronic environment, making it even easier to serve them effectively in a physically distanced environment.

If you’re new to the idea of doing your own start-up, you don’t have to worry about getting up to speed quickly and getting the support you need from the get-go. With our extensive training program, launch support, and ongoing support within business operations, marketing, and professional networking and development, you’ll be given the tools and support you need to launch your own Peaceful Divorce Business with Divorce With Dignity. Our team of Providers and support personnel are there for you at every step of the way.

Our Founder started DWD, after years in the legal field, because she wanted to help people going through a divorce to do it peacefully – the way she did – and provide a safe place for them to do so. In 1995, she opened the first DWDignity office in Alameda, California and since then, she (along with her expanding network of Providers) has helped thousands of people obtain an amicable divorce.
