Divorce With Dignity Network Provider Spotlight…Lori Black Ogene

Divorce With Dignity Providers are legal professionals that believe in helping others attain a peaceful divorce with dignity.

Today we are proud to feature one of our Divorce With Dignity Network Providers from Florida, Lori Black Ogene.   Lori is an attorney with over 15 years of litigation experience who joined our divorce services network about two years ago. I spoke with Lori about how she decided to join us, and her thoughts about the business.

What made you decide to become a Divorce With Dignity Provider?

I knew that I didn’t want to do what I had been doing. I had been doing a lot of family law, but I wanted more focus, and then I came across the name “Divorce With Dignity”. I thought it was catchy, and I liked the premise – trying to work out differences instead of being entrenched in a battle. I wanted to bring that philosophy to my practice.

What was most helpful about the training DWD provided?

I found it very valuable to get a business plan and a focused idea of where I need to be. But what I really appreciate is the continued marketing information. The importance of networking was a major revelation to me! It’s becoming more natural for me to give out my business cards, and attend networking events. I’m learning a lot about being a business person, both with the marketing aspect and running a business. The training I got in the beginning was very informative, but it is the ongoing help that is really making a difference.

What was the best advice you have received from the Network?

When you feel you are not getting anywhere, redirect and work the plan. And forgive yourself if you don’t always do what you are supposed to do. Each day just start over and refocus on the business. Another excellent piece of advice was to get an accountability partner, someone who motivates you. For me, that is another attorney who is in a different area of law. We encourage and help each other to stay focused.

What would you say to someone who is considering joining the Divorce With Dignity Network?

That they would have their own business, but they would not be doing it alone. They would have a team of people interested in their success.

Do you think you are achieving more success by being a Divorce With Dignity provider than you could on your own?

Yes. Joining the Network has given me business training and a brand that makes me stand out from the crowd. When I tell people the name of my business they ask me, “So, how do you get a divorce with dignity?” This gives me the opportunity to talk about my business.

What about some advice for a person who is just starting their own Divorce With Dignity business?

Follow the plan and use the marketing tools – they do work. Work on getting your social networks going. In this business you are dealing with personal issues, and it’s all about relationships, so networking is your best marketing strategy. Jump into all that right away, and you will do well.
